| Interest in developmental disabilities | I am a mother of a teenage son with significant developmental disabilities and multiple chronic medical needs relating from a complex chromosome disorder. I am dedicated to advocating for the supports and services needed to live a full and independent life in the community. |
| Experience in developmental disabilities | Inspired by my son I have dedicated the past 15 years on advocating the rights and needs of people with developmental disabilities. I have served on the Family Advisory Council of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and then as Chairperson of the council for 3 years. Currently at Children's I am on the Institutional Review Board and a member of the Ethics Committee. I also serve on the Emergency Medical Services for Children Resource Center Committee and most recently on the Family Voices- Center for Excellence Parent Advisory Group.
